Custom Triathlon Bike - This was a pleasant challenge. The client is 4’6” tall and wanted a new triathlon bike to supplement her 20-year-old and heavy steel bike. After taking measurements from her old bike we set out to design something similar but modern. We used 650c wheels instead of the 24”. We had to keep the stand-over height below 23”. The fork is custom with a short axle-to-crown. We found the same Scott handlebars that she had become comfortable with on eBay. We opted for a 1x 12-speed setup, she had been running a triple with a 7-speed cassette. The cranks are 160mm. The new Unicorn dropped 5 lbs from her old bike.

Custom Road Bike - Designed for comfort during ultra rides/races, this polished custom titanium frame includes a titanium seatpost, stem, and headset spacers. Built with Sram Force 1, 10-42 cassette, Absolute Black 46t oval chainring, Cane Creek 110 integrated headset, Salsa Cowchipper handlebars, Enve SES 4.5 AR wheelset, Continental GP5000 tubeless tires 32c, Rodeo Labs fork, and bolt-on top tube bag with extra mounts on the seatstays and under the downtube. Custom Road / Time Trial / Gravel / Rando Bike - One of the first Unicorns from 2016. This bike completed a 500-mile time trial, multiple 1200 brevets, a 1000 mile unsupported race, and a couple of grueling 200-mile gravel rides. Unicorns are tough!
Custom Road / Gravel / Rando Bike - This bike is outfitted with frame couplers and cable splitters. There is a split in the chainstay for an optional belt drive. To maintain tension on the belt we used an eccentric bottom bracket. The bike has 650b wheels, 1.9” tires, Shutter Precision dynamo, and Rodeo Labs Spork v2.0.

For more than a year I had been shopping for just the right titanium bike. Nothing I came across was quite what I wanted, and a custom build was out of reach financially. That was until I met Jason at Unicorn Cycles. I described what I was looking for and he worked with me on everything from frame geometry to tire selection. We concluded the design process with a worksheet and drawings that described my perfect bike, with a price tag that was thousands less than the almost-perfect bikes from other ti builders. Custom Time Trial Prototype V1 - This design is inspired by the old boom/beam bikes such as the Sofride Rocket, TitanFlex, and Trek Y-Foil. This Unicorn has an adjustable top tube and adjustable suspension. This design is intended for ultra-time trials, offering a balance of comfort and aerodynamics. The built includes custom titanium bullhorn bars with an integrated stem, titanium aerobar extensions, and titanium seatpost.
Custom Time Trial Prototype V2 - Many changes from the V1 above. Thicker side panels, different clamping mechanism for the top tube, less flex in the top tube, cables that enter the top tube instead of the headtube, angular profile, and a combination of polished and Cerakote finish.
